Homestead
The Deelkraal historical homestead is warm, inviting and timeless African Luxury.
The farm “Deelkraal” was established in 1861 and the homestead built in the early 1900’s by a cattle and crop family who owned the farm for over 80 years. After changing hands a few times, the current owners arrived and set about restoring both the 2000 hectare reserve and the old homestead, with great care and respect to its heritage.
An historical “Transvaal verandah” style home, Deelkraal stands apart from the more traditional take on African Safari accommodation. The decor of the 5 bedrooms in the Main House and 2 bedrooms in the Garden Cottage is subtle and understated. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, offering comfortable luxury. The well established indigenous gardens overlooking the plain, where the animals roam freely, offer a tranquil escape for guests, transporting them back in time to an era where the days melt into one another with the setting of the African sun.
Booked on a Sole-Use basis and accommodating 2 – 11 people, Deelkraal is a place for individuals and families to kick off their shoes, feel the earth between their toes, soak up the sun and thoroughly absorb the sights, sounds and smells of the African Bushveld. You will enjoy sole-use, privacy and exclusivity during your stay as we take only one booking at a time.
